Experience
Dr. Kabnick is the Chancellor of Vein & Lymphatic University. Previously, he was the Director of Medical Operations for United Vein Centers. Prior to that, he was part of the NYU faculty from 2007 to 2018 as Director of the NYU Vein Center, selected because of his targeted specialty in the treatment of venous disease. As a world-renowned surgeon, his patient-centered approach to vein care has enabled him to create and improve a number of today’s most advanced non-invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Kabnick holds numerous patents for the development of devices used during endovenous thermal treatment. He was the first vascular surgeon in the United States to perform two breakthrough procedures (laser and radiofrequency) for treating venous disease. Dr. Kabnick is one of a few vascular surgeons in the United States devoting his practice entirely to venous diagnosis and treatments.
He has consistently been recognized as one of the areas “Top Doctors”, is listed in the “Guide to Americas Top Surgeons” and is one of Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors. He has been featured on the ABC program New Jersey Viewpoint and the Later Today Show. Dr. Kabnick’s acclaimed book series, Practical Phlebology, is being released in 2013-2014. He has more than 80 publishing credits to his name in leading journals and textbooks used as guidelines for the best practices in vein treatment.
Recognized by his peers as an international authority on the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease, he is regularly asked to train fellow physicians globally in the latest treatments of varicose veins. He has presented his findings at near 300 conferences globally in the past decade, all focused on advancing the treatment of vein disease.

In February 2018, Dr. Kabnick was elected Vice President of the International Union of Phlebology. He is Past President of the American Venous Forum (AVF)–the most prestigious of the venous societies. He served as President of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for Vein Centers. In addition to these esteemed positions, Dr. Kabnick is a member of the AVF and the Society of Vascular Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Phlebology (ACP) and presently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Venous Forum and as President of the American Venous Forum Foundation.
Education
A graduate with Special Honors from The George Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Kabnick received his postdoctoral graduate school training at New York University and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He completed his Vascular Fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York.
