Article by Dr. Lowell S. Kabnick Featured in Endovascular Today
The March issue of Endovascular Today features a scholarly article written by Dr. Kabnick, entitled IAC Vein Center Accreditation. The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, or IAC, is responsible for accrediting vein centers and thus plays a major role in upholding care standards and protecting patient safety. Dr. Kabnick is President of the IAC Vein Center Division and an active member of the Commission. He writes in the opening of his article, coauthored with Dr. Alan M. Dietzek, that “…[T]he new IAC Vein Center accreditation division offers a process by which centers that perform evaluation and management of superficial venous disorders can voluntarily demonstrate their commitment to quality patient care.”
The article outlines how the IAC Vein Center was created, how it establishes and maintains the current standards for vein centers, and its goals for the future – including having the IAC become an intermediary between different organizations and agencies in order to facilitate effective administration at vein practices while ensuring the best possible patient care.
